Our Church History
In October of 1904 First Baptist Church of Crystal River was organized calling its first pastor Rev F.C Edwards. In November, of the same year our First Sunday School classes were formed. For many years the church grew adding a pastorium, which was later used as the office of the church, and a new church auditorium was dedicated in January of 1957. In 1965 the Education building was built and dedicated. Our current sanctuary, music suite and additional educational facilities were built in 1978 . In 2000 & 2001 we added Victory Hall and made other renovations to our existing facilities.
The church has been lead by some great pastors and staff over the years. We have been blessed with additional properties and continue to seek God's will as we try to be a light in our community. We have grown in our ministries that reach our members, our community, our county, our state, our nation and our world through giving of time and money to our Lord Jesus Christ.
We look forward each year as to what God would have us to do to reach a lost world. As our mission statement goes "First Baptist Church of Crystal River exists to touch hearts and transform lives by sharing the love of Jesus Christ". Won't you join us in this endeavor?
